CHA Skate for the Cure Dates

In 2013-14 the league’s six member institutions raised a combined $25,385 in the eighth annual Skate for the Cure initiative.

This year’s total is by far the largest amount raised in a single season, and brings the combined league total to over $106,600 for the eight years.
 
Skate for the Cure, founded by the league office during the 2006-07 season, is a league-wide initiative in which each CHA program dedicates one or two home games to raising funds and awareness for a local charity or research organization of their choice. 

 

2013-14

Lindenwood -- $4,329 for the SSM Breast Care Center in St. Louis

Mercyhurst -- $2,500 for Linked By Pink in Erie, Pa.

Penn State -- $5,025 to benefit WBCA PinkZone and Penn State's THON

Robert Morris -- $2,209

RIT -- $8,847 for AutismUp

Syracuse -- $2,475 for the Upstate Cancer Research Center

 

2012-13

Mercyhurst -- $1,000 for Making Strides breast cancer chapter in Erie, Pa.

Penn State -- $700 for Penn State Hershey Medical Center Cancer Institute

RIT -- $6,075 through RIT's United Way Fund for CURE Childhood Cancer
