Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women's hockey team took some time before their series at Penn State last week to volunteer at the West Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.

On Oct. 29, the Colonials visited with the elderly and made caramel apples. It was their first time ever visiting the center.

"(Assistant coach) Jinelle (Siergiej) found this place and we thought it would be a good experience," said junior forward Rebecca Vint (Caldeon, Ontario / Brampton Junior Thunder). "It was cool because they were laughing and smiling the entire time. Jinelle brought in her dogs, and it was nice to make their day and keep them smiling."

"We walked the dogs around and it was therapeutic for the people there," Siergiej added. "They really enjoyed having us."

RMU hosts in-state rival Mercyhurst this weekend as they continue CHA play. Puck drop for Friday's contest is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. at 84 Lumber Arena.
