Mercyhurst Captures first College Hockey America Championship with a 1-0 victory over Findlay

Detroit, Mich. - Sara McDonald power-play goal at 3:06 in the first period turned out to be the game winner in the first College Hockey America (CHA) championship game Sunday afternoon at the City Ice Arena. The Lakers finish the year with a 25-8-1 overall record, while Findlay ends its season with a 13-9-1 record.

Mercyhurst Senior goalie Tiffany Ribble made 11 saves and improved her record 17-6-0. Findlay freshman netminder Jessica Moffat took the lost but finished with 42 saves. Moffat record falls to 6-10-1.
